better hearing and speech month

PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. -- Did you know that May is Better Hearing and Speech Month?  Pulaski County Special School District employs 27 full time speech/language pathologists and two full time speech/language pathology assistants to  provide therapy services to the students of PCSSD. PCSSD also employs one dually certified speech/language pathologist/audiologist who serves as our district educational audiologist.

PCSSD treats a variety of disorders including receptive language, expressive language, articulation, apraxia of speech, social communication, executive functioning, hearing impairment, stuttering and voice. Each speech/language pathologist holds a Masters Degree and National Certification through the American Speech and Hearing Association along with state licensure through the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Speech Pathology and Audiology. Many of them also hold their teaching certification through the Arkansas Department of Education.
