November is National Diabetes Month. The CDC reports that more than one-third of U.S. adults have prediabetes which puts them on track to be diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is preventable through committing to a healthy lifestyle.

One of our pre-k teachers, Mr. Kemp, is a Veteran. He visited Mrs. McClure's 5th grade class as a special guest speaker yesterday for Veteran's Day. He spoke about his experience in the Military and having pride in yourself and exercising self-discipline. This was a great way to learn about Honor and Self Pride from one of our own.
