We're recognizing our school board members this month with a throwback to their high school days. First up, Lt. Eli Keller board member for zone 6. Keller graduated from American International School of Johannesburg (Johannesburg, Gauteng Province, South Africa) in 1996 for 11th & 12th grade. Prior to that he attended Bishop Mackenzie School (Lilongwe, Malawi) for 9th & 10th grade. He played rugby, track (1600m, 800m), basketball, soccer, & volleyball in high school. It's a pleasure to welcome back Brenda Moss as Dyslexia Interventionist at Oak Grove Elementary! She returns to the position since Mrs. James has moved to Northwest Arkansas. We are also thrilled to introduce Sharon McKinney as an Interventionist, working with our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade teachers and students. She has already been motivating teachers to be excited about science by presenting at our January 2nd professional development. Welcome to the family!

December is Read a New Book Month! We asked our teacher librarians to share a recent book and why they loved it. Tiffany Shettles-Tull, COLLEGE STATION, read "The Little Liar: A Novel" by Mitch Albom. She loved how it expressed the effects of truth and lies. #pcssdproud #serveall

Mark your calendars and save your favorite PJs to wear on Friday, December 15th for Pajama Day! Oak Grove teachers decided to have a cozy last day for students and staff. Wear your tennis shoes, though, so you can have fun outside. PreK and K families are invited on Thursday morning the 14th at 8:30 for a concert with The Kinders. Winter parties are that afternoon. All volunteers must pass a background check.
