October is National Bullying Prevention Month. As a parent, talk with your child about bullying and provide a supportive place to talk about his/her feelings. If the bullying is happening at school, contact the school to determine a plan together.

Arkansas Department of Education extended the USDA waiver allowing all students to be served meals free of cost for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. Kindergarten students have used apples to learn plant development, economic concepts, and sorting & graphing among other concepts. Today, Mrs. Cunningham's students participating in "Apple Tasting Extravaganza"! Students tasted a variety of apple products. After tasting each product, students were polled on products they like or disliked.
Arkansas Department of Education has a new educational tool for families and teachers called the Social Media Awareness Campaign (SMACtalk) to ensure we all work together to keep students healthy and safe while they learn and socialize online.

At the end of the month, Baker will be participating in "Read for the Record". Adults and children around the world will read the same book on the same day in order to raise awareness about importance of early literacy.
